The General Public is hereby notified & forewarned not to respond to such fake calls/ mail as Customs Officer do not make telephonic calls or send such mail to deposit amounts in individual bank accounts. All such calls/ mail are fake with the sole intention of cheating the public. and a bank account number is also given where the money is to be deposited.Īnother common modus operandi is to send an e-mail stating that the recipient has won a prize or a parcel has been sent and money is to be deposited. Instances have come to the notice that number of persons are getting telephonic calls as well as e-mail and letters by post asking them to deposit money in individual bank accounts making claim that Customs Officer have stopped clearance/ release of gift parcels/ rewards unless a certain amount is deposited towards customs duties, penalties etc. You may also bring to our notice any difficulty or grievances through e-mail or by visiting any of our offices. Similarly, for facilitating and regulating Customs clearance of passengers and baggage at the Arrival and Departure terminals of IGI Airport, Delhi, we are increasingly using risk based passenger profiling complemented with use of social media platforms for creating awareness about eligibility and entitlements of international passengers. Deferred Duty payment, 24*7 clearance, reduction of dwell time of cargo by measures such as Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade (SWIFT), simplifying export procedures, Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) scheme, Advance filing of bills of entry, reduced documentation and online filing of documents through e-Sanchit and other modern business practices serve as a means to facilitate expeditious clearance of import and export goods. The primary functions pertaining to collection of customs duties, prevention of smuggling & tax frauds and enforcement of border control measures are being implemented in the zone as part of Government’s overall policy directions of enhanced trade facilitation through use of modern risk based management systems and non-intrusive examination techniques.
